NANO Bicycles® - FAQ's
Do I need to book a bicycle in advance or can I just come to the shop?
We highly recommend to book in advance to make sure you have the bicycle/s in your size/s available when you need it/them. Please, consider that bookings are charged in advance in order to ensure availability. In order to make a reservation, click here. For urban bicycles, we highly recommend to visit the shop early in the morning as during high season bookings may not be accepted.
I have sent a request online but did not receive a confirmation. What should I do?
First of all, please check your spam/junk folder (our email could arrive there). Then, please consider that we receive quite a lot of emails every day and they are replied in order of arrival (normally within 24h), this time could be longer during high season (March to November).
What do I need to rent a bike?
ID or passport and a credit card (Visa or Mastercard only).
Importance notice: A security deposit may be charged when renting a bicycle, the quantity may vary according to the type of bicycle.

Does the rental bikes include lock?
Yes! We include high security locks for free in urban models, hardtrail mtb and hybrids. In top of the range bikes, as racing bikes and special mtb (double suspension and mtb e-bike), we strongly recommend not to leave the bike unattended and not to lock the bike and be away from it so locks will not be provided for security reasons.
Can I rent helmet and other accessories?
Yes! Helmets can be rented from 2€/day. For other accessories, please visit this link.
Do you offer insurance for the bikes?
No, we do not offer theft or damage insurance in any of our bikes. We recommend you to check either with your travel insurance or credit card insurance to learn more about their conditions.
Do you charge any extra for cleaning?
In very exceptional cases (as for example, dirty Mtb's), we can charge 10€ when the bike is returned full of mud, dust or rusty (which is not common!).
Are any puncture repair kits provided in the rental?
We provide a puncture repair kit (air pump, two tyre levers and spare inner tube) in all the sporty models. A fee of 5€ will be charged if using the spare inner tube provided. In the rest of bikes (urban), we do not provide a repair kit but we have a road assistance service (please, check tariffs).
Do you have any Mechanical Assistance Service in case of breakdown?
Yes! Our Mechanical Service works at our shop and everywhere if required. Most times, breakdowns are easy to repair there and then (within a few minutes!), if not, another bike will be deliver. Please, contact us to learn more about pricing and conditions.
Yes! We are located 1 min away from the main cycle track along the cost and all of the bicycle paths are connected. Palma is also a safe small city placed next to flat areas and famous hills of the island of Majorca. In addition, this town is a wonderful place to enjoy after cycling with an incredible legacy of culture and history and full of gastronomy offers and nightlife! Easy routes to technical off-road tracks and even road cycling it is possible to do from the center of Palma.
Is it possible to transport the bike in the bus/train/taxi?
It is possible to transport the bikes either in taxi (please order a big taxi accordingly) or train (from Palma to Sa Pobla, Inca or Manacor) although unfortunately it is not possible to transport bikes neither in the train of Soller nor buses.
Here you can check some recommendations for cycling routes. In addition, we also sell a professional cycling map (10€) with all the routes for road/mtb bikes all over the island (including different levels of traffic, %, altimetry, etc.).
Can I store my bike at the shop if I rent it for more than one day?
Yes! We have a left luggage service free of charge when you rent a bike or do a bike tour with us. This left luggage facility in Palma is available exclusively for our customers.
Yes! Appart from the equipment that we include when renting a bicycle with us, we have a good stock of spare parts and accessories including brands such as Continental, Shimano, Look, Sram, Zefal, Garmin, Michelin, Schwalbe, Cateye, Sigma, Var, Tacx, Multipower, Selle Italia, Thule among others. Please, remember that if the item you are looking for is not in stock, we can always order it for you according to availability (we sell all the famous brands in the market!).
Yes! We provide an excellent delivery and pick up service. To check the prices of this bike transport service, please contact us with your accurate delivery address. Prices may vary according to the distance. We recommend to book this service in advance in order to secure availability. Please consider that there are parts of the island that we do not cover (please contact for more info).
Yes! We offer children bikes for kids between 1 m and 1,50 m as well as child seats (max. weight of 22 kg) and baby trailers (suitable for 1 or 2 kids, max. height 111cm and max. load including cargo and passengers 45kg). The helmets are provided for free for children up to 16 years old as its use is compulsory for them. We work with top brands in the market as Hamax and Thule.
Please, feel free to click into the link +INFO that you will find in every model description so there you can see all the technical specifications of our bikes. Please, consider that it is not possible to change the gear ratio of the different models (for example, the only racing bike type provided with 11-32t is the Specialized Roubaix).
If I want to start cycling earlier than your shop opening time, can I pick up my racing bike the previous night?
Yes! It is possible according to availability. Please, consider that this service has an extra charge. Feel free to contact us for further information.
Do you sell second-hand bicycles after the season?
We normally start selling our second hand bicycles in our Palma bike shops after summer (this may vary). In any case, all our second-hand fleet of bikes that are for sale in our shops in Palma are published online in our official website.
Do I need to book a bike tour in advance?
Booking is required for every bike tour that we do in order to offer the best service and have the specialized number of guides needed. In order to make a reservation, please click here.
Are NANO bicycles Tours appropriate for children?
Of course! Our city bike tours (Palma Old Town and Palma + Surroundings) are suitable for families, and we do not have any age restriction. We also offer child seats for free. Every child of less than 12 years of age can also do the bike tour for free when accompanied by two adults. For more sporty bicycle tours, we recommend that children (and all participants) are familiarized with cycling. For security reasons, we do not advise people with very low training to do specific endurance tours.
Are NANO bicycles Tours appropriate for everyone?
Yes! According to our experience through the years, our regular tours are appropiate for everyone! For more sporty tours, we strongly recommend being used to cycle and to be in good shape, this particular tours require a much bigger effort than the regular ones.
Are NANO bicycles Tours appropriate for cruise visitors?
Certainly! Considering the small time that some cruise ship visitors spend in our beautiful city, our bike tours are a perfect way of getting to know all main parts of Palma within 3 to 4 hours. As we are familiarized with cruise ship passengers, we tend to be estrict with the tour times in order to make possible your return to the ship on time. Even more, we like to recommend our clients which tour is the best according to the times that the cruise line is dock at Palma Port.
How do we find your meeting point?
We start all our regular bike tours at our shop located right in the center of Palma in C/ de la Mar, 10. Easy access by taxi and bus (number 1, 3, 15 and 25 among others) and Parking nearby! Please check Google Maps for further information.
Is it possible to start the tour from another location?
Yes! It is possible according to availability and they may required a higher minimum number of partipants. Please, contact us to check it.
How do we get to your shop from the Port?
If you are in a Cruise ship, you can either take the shuttle bus of your Cruise ship company dropping off in front of the Cathedral (this place is known as "La escollera") and walk just 2 minuts!, take a taxi (about 15 minutes ride) or take the bus number 1 dropping off at "Passeig Mallorca", walk down street "Jaume III", turn right at "Passeig des Born" until the beginning of our street (about 15 minutes walk).
Please, remember we are located right in the center of town so it is very easy to start cycling from there as we are close to the main cycle path of Palma.
Do our tours have a minimum of guests?
Yes, our daily city tours have a minimum of 2 people. Regarding other types of tours, please check in the description the minimum amount of riders required.
Are our tours offered in English everyday?
Yes, we do daily tours in English (with previous reservation required). Other languages under request and according to availability.
What time do the bike tours start?
We offer daily city bike tours (book in advance is required) starting at 10:30h and 15:00h. For the more sporty tours the starting time will be 9:30h.
For another starting time, please inform us when making a reservation and we will arrange it for you (according to availability).
How long do the bike tours last?
All our bike tours last from 3 to 4 hours. Please, check in every tour description its duration.
Are the bike tours canceled in case of rain?
Reschedule can be possible when weather conditions are not suitable for a bicycle tour (according to availability). NANO bicycles® will decide if the bike tour is done according to the circumstances and weather condition. Cancellations may be executed by NANO bicycles® owed to safety reasons.
Do we go inside the museums and monuments?
Usually we have a break at important monuments such as the Cathedral, although entrance fee is not included in our retail price. We are flexible so we recommend to enjoy all the city and stop at every top attraction that we show. In Palma + Surroundings bike tour you can also stop for a swimming at sea and a cold drink at a beach club!
Is it compulsory to wear a helmet?
According to the Spanish law, the use of the helmet is not compulsory in the city for people over 16 years old. In any case, we strongly recommend its use and we provide helmets for every tour rider (free of charge). For tours going outside Palma, helmet is compulsory under the Spanish law.
